About Kam

Kam is a learning support assistant at a special needs school in Camberwell and studies the emotional development of babies, children and adolescents from a psychoanalytical perspective. In a previous career, he delivered projects for a private contractor on behalf of the Department for International Development (now the FCDO). An uncle to a young niece and nephew, Kam began volunteering with Lambeth Youth Justice Service in 2020, working with young people who have committed crimes to help them turn the page, see a better future for themselves and build on their strengths. Through that work, he has seen first-hand how important the father-son relationship is to determining outcomes. Kam is drawn to exploring ways for fathers or male guardian figures to connect with their child and vice versa. He believes the father-son relationship can be an anchor in a rapidly changing world, helping boys to grow and be true to themselves.
